12 months ago I was forced to walk 16 of the 21km in the run of a half-Ironman because of shocking ITB pain. A year later I have just completed my first full Ironman race with no ITB issues whatsoever. Patt-Strap has made a world of difference to me. I wear it on longer rides as well as running and my ITB hasn't given me any problems. I thoroughly recommend it if you have ITB issues.
